"The Complete History of Las Cruces (Abridged)" is a hilarious, zany and fast-paced comedy detailing the major events of Las Cruces from prehistoric times to modern day in a mere 90 minutes. Utilizing three versatile actors; Michael Anderson, Steve Conn, and Santino Jimenez, dozens of props and costumes, audiences will be treated to a Honeymooner's-inspired sketch about how fossilized dinosaur footprints came to be, a telenovela detailing the life of explorer Don Juan de Oñate, and a Wagnerian opera retelling of the 20th and 21st centuries. A sneak preview of the show was presented at the Las Cruces Centennial Celebration in November.

Scenic design for the production is by Kyle Melton and lighting design is by Jessica Kohn. Tom Smith designed the costumes, props and sound.

The play opens Friday, April 4 and runs through April 20, with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., Sunday, April 13 and 20 at 2:30 p.m. and Thursday, April 17 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10.00 regular admission, $9.00 students and seniors over 65 and all seats on Thursday are $7.00. Reservations may be made by calling the Black Box Theatre at (575) 523-1223 or online at http://www.no-strings.org.

There is a benefit performance for Friends of Branigan Library on Sunday, April 6 at 2:30 p.m, with all tickets $15.00. For information and tickets call (575) 521-4845
